In a meeting yesterday, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdulhakim Al-Tamimi, oversaw the operational plan set for pilgrims’ departures starting today (Friday). The meeting included a tour of the Hajj and Umrah lounges at King Abdulaziz International Airport (in Jeddah).

The president of the authority commended the great efforts put forth to ensure a successful Hajj season. The meeting covered all the operational requirements of the airport. Alongside stressing on the importance of the application and adherence of the operational plan, he highlighted the successes of the “arrival phase” of Hajj 2018. From the airport’s end, the Director of King Abdulaziz International Airport (in Jeddah) expressed that the airport’s successes included: increasing the capacity of travelers to 45,000 pilgrims in 24 hours, successful execution of the Ministry of Interior’s “Makkah Route” Initiative, new Europe and North and South America reception lounges, and adding an additional 10 counters in the northern lounge.
